The Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo has released four individuals who were detained on September 24 in Banjska, Zvecan, citing a lack of evidence provided by the Kosovo Police.

These individuals were apprehended during clashes near the Banjska monastery, where the Kosovo Police engaged with an armed group.

During this attack, which Kosovo has labeled as a terrorist act, one Kosovo Police officer and three assailants lost their lives.

In addition to this development, the Kosovo Police has apprehended four more individuals.

Among these, three have been placed in custody for a one-month period.

The suspects, identified by their initials as B.S., D.M., and V.T., face charges related to criminal offenses, including alleged involvement in terrorist acts and severe crimes against Kosovo’s constitutional order and security.

Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla has publicly accused Milan Radojičić, the Deputy Chairman of the Serb List – the largest Serbian political party in Kosovo – of orchestrating and taking part in the Banjska attack.

On September 26, Sveçla released a drone-recorded video purportedly depicting Radojičić armed in Banjska.

The Serb List, a party with the backing of Belgrade, and Serbian institutions have not yet responded to Kosovo’s allegations regarding Radojičić’s purported involvement.

Kosovo places blame on Serbia for the attack, while official Belgrade insists that the attackers were Kosovo Serbs.

The attacks against the Kosovo Police have drawn condemnation from the United States and the European Union, both urging that those responsible be brought to justice.
