The European Parliament was officially constituted this Tuesday in Strasbourg, after the European elections held from June 6 to 9.
The 720 newly elected lawmakers gathered in Strasbourg today for the first plenary session of the 10th legislature, with a strengthened far-right seeking more influence in the assembly.
Also present at the session was Fredi Beleri, who was elected MEP in Greece with the “New Democracy” party of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
He was welcomed by the vice president of the European Commission, Margaritis Schinas, who wrote on social networks: “Europe is equal freedom”!
They discussed the priorities of the new political cycle and the importance of the rule of law in all candidate countries for membership.
A day ago, Beleri left Fier prison. Before arriving in Strasbourg, he was also received by Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis. Beleri’s leave to stay away from the cell ends on July 20, when he will have to continue his sentence in Fier prison.
