The Albanian government plans to spend 1.6 billion euros on infrastructure in 2025. Investments will include the expansion of the Tirana-Durres highway, Corridor 8, the reconstruction and construction of the new port in Porto Romano.

According to the budget for 2025, public investments in infrastructure, roads, railways and other programs will receive increased attention, with an increase of 100 million euros compared to the current year. This amount also includes the fund for the reconstruction after the 2019 earthquake, as the process for replacing the damaged housing has not yet been completed.

Total expenditures are expected to reach 6.2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), marking a record level compared to previous years.

The projects that are expected to be financed from this budget include the expansion of the Tirana-Durrës and Elbasan-Qafë Thane highways, the start of works for the Elbasan bypass and the Elbasan-Lekaj segment. Also, it is planned to start the construction of the new port in Porto Romano, which is a long-term project and is expected to last beyond 2025.

In connection with the new contracts with public and private partners, two important segments are expected to be financed in the road infrastructure: Kashar-Lekaj and Lekaj-Fier.
