The Competition Authority has launched an in-depth investigation into the market for the collection and wholesale of fruits and vegetables in the district of Tirana, Elbasan, Berat, Fier and Korça.

These markets have anti-competitive behavior, as a result of agreements or concerted practices between two or more enterprises operating in the market of collection and wholesale of fruits and vegetables.

This conclusion emerged after analyzing the market structure, vertical integration, the behavior of aggregators and the large differences in the product value chain from producers, aggregators, wholesalers to the end consumer.

The investigation will cover the time period January 1, 2023 – September 30, 2024.
