Lawyers Genc Gjokutaj and Idajet Beqiri argued about the tragic event of January 21 and a recently published audio recording, where the former commander of the guard, Ndrea Prendi, communicated and gave orders to his subordinates to open fire during the protest organized by the opposition at the time.

During Euronews Albania’s “Review” with Jonida Shehu, Gjokutaj said that the Americans intervened in the prohibition orders, for the safety of the guards and that this was documented.

But according to Beqiri, these are just conspiracy theories.

Genc Gjokutaj: Regarding the prohibition orders, there was an intervention by the Americans for the sake of the guards’ security.

Idajet Beqiri: These are conspiracy theories!

Genc Gjokutaj: This is a document, I’m not like you who talks like that.

Idajet Beqiri: You know what Berisha told you. Is there logic in this, did America say don’t follow the order of the prosecutor?

Genc Gjokutaj: I say there was an agreement.
