The German ambassador, Jorn Rohde, declared that Kosovo should extend the transition period for the Central Bank of Kosovo decision for four months, just as it happened with the visa liberalization campaign.
Rohde said that Kosovo has shown that it knows how to communicate in the right way and that this is what is needed now.
“My colleague from the European Union, Tomas Szunyog, clearly states why we need a long period of transition and information about the CBK regulation. With its 4-month campaign before visa liberalization, the Kosovo government has shown that it knows how to communicate properly. We need this now!” – wrote the German ambassador.
The Government of Kosovo, in response to international pressure, has agreed to be more slowly during this process, enabling a 1-month transition period, where citizens will be more informed and there will be no penalties.
