On Tuesday, the opening of camps for the reception of African migrants in Gjadër and Shengjin will be tested. It is learned that around 500 people will be deployed on August 20 in Shengjin to get ready to wait for the arrival of the first African migrants at the beginning of September.
Testing for the proper functioning of the 2 centers will be given the green light for the official reception of migrants who will be rescued by the Italian authorities in the Mediterranean waters starting from September 1. An internal regulation of the Italian authorities published for the employees of the center contains 14 ordinances in total, for the behavior or relationship they should have with the local population during their stay or interaction due to work.
Based on the agreement that the Albanian government has signed with the Italian one, the maximum capacity of the 2 centers in Albania cannot be more than 3 thousand migrants per month and at the end of the assessment procedures, the Italian authorities will remove the refugees from their country at their own expense to the Albanian territory.
The landing port for refugees from third countries will be Shëngjin, where the reception center has been set up, while a camp is being built in Gjadër where they will stay until the asylum requests are reviewed by the Italian authorities.
