The announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the initiation of the procedures for the replacement of Yuri Kim has become a topic of discussion all over the news and social media this Friday.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, lecturer Roland Bejko said that neither Edi Rama nor Sali Berisha can remove Ambassador Yuri Kim, while he added that the ambassador who will be in her place will follow the same policies as Kim.

“Kim cannot be removed either by Edi Rama or Sali Berisha, who said in the press statement that if she does not leave herself, we would remove her with the protests of the democratic revolution. We are in an environment where each of these politicians acts as if they are the center of the world. And noone should have any doubts that the next ambassador won’t follow the same diplomatic line because these are not the lines defined by Edi Rama, but the lines defined by the US Department of State and the geopolitical strategy. Albanians know well that neither Rama nor Berisha can remove an ambassador” – said Bejko.

On the other hand, the member of the National Council of the DP, Clirim Gjata, said that Kim was personally invested in Albanian politics, and according to him, this was the reason why she failed.

“The problem is that Kim was very personally invested, and even insulted a part of the Albanian opposition. This departure from ethics and the transition to the personal level caused her to fail both in the fight against corruption and the economic upswing,” added Gjata.
