The return of the Gjirokastra Festival after a long time, has brought back the emotions and the competition of the groups that are involved in the competitive and further selection stages, as far as the representation of the Vlora District is concerned.

“Normally, this festival takes place every four to five years, and we have prepared to compete and hope to be part of the festival. We have participated in all festivals since 2000”, said the group Jehona Labe

“We are a new group for 12 years, November 28, 2012. We competed once for the Gjirokastra Festival, that is 6 years. Every competition has its own excitement, but that’s why we came out to sing polyphony”, said the Pavarësia group

“It’s something fantastic and the fight is big, and the groups are all prepared, the best will win, the one who will give value to Vlora”, said the group Djemtë e Vlora “We were in the socialist years, in Vlora, Elbasan, Gjirokastër, I don’t know”, said the Rrëmjeve (vllah) group.

The Chairman of the Vlora District Council indicated that about 40 groups have competed in the entire district where we will participate not only with the polyphony part as is known and characteristic of our district but also with the inclusion of communities that are an integral part of the district. of the source culture and tradition.

“This means both the Cham community, with the minority, with the minority area that is the municipality of Finiq, with the villages of Delvina or with the area of ​​Myzeqe, so the commission has a very difficult job due to the great diversity of representation and competition”, said Ervis Moçka.
