Google ranks Albania third in terms of destinations with the highest growth in this tourist season, with Tirana being the second most visited city.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama published Google’s data this Tuesday, emphasizing that Tirana is leaving behind many well-established cities in tourism.
“According to data from Google itself, Albania ranks third in terms of destinations with the highest growth this tourist season, and our Tirana is second, surpassing many cities that have been well-established in tourism for decades,” PM Rama expressed on a Facebook update.
Official data from the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) shows that Albania was visited by 5.2 million foreigners during the period from January to July.
During the seven-month period, the region with the highest number of foreign nationals entering Albania is Europe, with around 5 million citizens, followed by America, East Asia, and the Pacific, with 131,236 and 34,721 citizens, respectively.
