During its Wednesday meeting, the Council of Ministers approved the updated list of reimbursed medicines, expanding coverage for essential medications.

The decision takes effect on March 1, 2025.

The previous update to the list was in July 2024, but with this new revision, the list now includes 1,345 alternative medicines, following the addition of 154 new drugs.

Key updates include:

• 50 newly added medications
• 38 new active pharmaceutical ingredients
• 18 new dosage forms

This expansion aims to improve access to essential treatments and enhance healthcare affordability for Albanian citizens.
