Albanian government has decided to create a joint-stock company to carry out the special procedures for public procurement in the name and account of the prime minister, ministries and dependent institutions.

The agency will bear the name “Concentrated Procurement Operator” with 100% state capital, for the provision of procurement services for contracting authorities/entities, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant legislation in force.

Decision was approved at this Thursday’s meeting of the government and came as a proposal of two ministries, form Interior Minister and Finance Minister.

The initial capital registered for the creation of the joint-stock company will be 20,000,000 (twenty million) lek and is covered by the reserve fund of the state budget.

Public procurement will no longer be done by the ministries but by this society.

“Concentrated Procurement Operator” is a central purchasing body, whose mission consists in carrying out procedures focused on the procurement of work goods, services of axial funds with a value above the monetary limit of small value procurements, in the name and on account of the Prime Minister’s Office, ministries, institutions depending on the prime minister and line ministers.

A. for carrying out special public procurement procedures, in the name and on behalf of the Prime Minister’s Office, ministries and dependent institutions.
