The government will allocate another 52 million euros for road financing this year.
With this addition, it is intended to speed up construction on open sites and pay off newly created debts.
With the revision of the budget, 52 million euros will go to finance roads until the end of 2024.
This addition will bring the annual fund to 292 million euros and will aim to speed up the work at the open sites in some of the national axes.
The addition to the infrastructure budget is also dictated by the requests of the Ministry of Infrastructure, made in part for at least 23 million additional euros for the settlement of arrears.
But which sites need additional intervention today?
The first project is the Korça-Erseka road in its 3rd and last part, for which a tender will be opened, while the second project is the Great Ring of Tirana.
Meanwhile, among the major projects budgeted for this year are the Llogara tunnel, the Elbasan – Qafë Thane road, part of corridor 8, as well as the 3 public-private partnership contracts for the Arbri road, the Kombit road and the Orikum – Dukat axis.
Meanwhile, the priority of the government, beyond the possibilities offered by this year’s budget, remains, starting from 2025, the Tirana-Ndroq-Plepa road, the expansion of the Tirana-Durrës highway, the rehabilitation of the axis Fier-Kthesa e Patosit-Fratar and the expansion of the segment “Milot-Rrëshen on the Nation’s Road”.
