The Rama 4 government aims to build 700 kilometers of new roads by 2029. Among the major projects expected to be completed is the extension of the Blue Corridor, which includes the segments Milot–Balldren, Milot–Thumanë, Kashar–Lekaj, and Lekaj–Fier, creating a new axis of national development.
The written program also promises the construction of the connecting segment of the Elbasan Bypass, linking the Tirana–Durrës highway with Corridor VIII toward Lekaj.
In the south, the government pledges to complete the Coastal Road Dhërmi–Saranda, along with the Saranda Bypass and the Ksamil Road, ensuring greater ease for tourism development. Work will also advance on the Çajupi Ring (Gjirokastër–Libohovë–Kardhiq), creating a new functional link between the country’s southern interior and the national network.
Additionally, the Vjosa Road (Ersekë–Përmet–Tepelenë) will be completed. The Berat–Skrapar–Gramsh axis will be another commitment, opening new tourism and economic opportunities in Central Albania. To achieve the 700 km target, the program also foresees paving the Lakes Road (Rrëshen–Burrel) and the Mountain Road (Vau i Dejës–Pukë–Fushë Arrëz).
