With the revision of the budget in November, the government will allocate 1.8 billion ALL to farmers and livestock breeders by the end of the year. They must apply for schemes that guarantee subsidies.

Albanian farmers can benefit this year from subsidies for oil and livestock. There are more than 1.8 billion lek, guaranteed by this year’s budget, which will be distributed in agriculture for the needs of people who work the land and breed animals and poultry.

The amount is divided into 1 billion lek for the oil scheme, for all mechanized works on the farm, and 800 million for the demands of livestock farmers.

Meanwhile, agricultural support schemes will continue to be applied in the following years. Referring to the medium-term budget program until 2025, it is planned to increase the number of beneficiaries from the National Schemes from 4,800 beneficiaries in 2022 to 6,000 beneficiaries in 2025.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 18,500 beneficiaries are expected to benefit from oil subsidies for agriculture by 2025.

This scheme is an important mechanism for reducing the costs of farmers in agriculture, the incentive for planting and their formalization, as the only form of being a beneficiary.

Despite the fact that the funds for the Ministry of Agriculture from the state budget in the next 3 years are decreasing, the number of farmers who benefit from grants from the National Schemes in agriculture is expected to increase.
