Speaker of the Albanian Assembly, Gramoz Ruçi, announced that he has resigned from all functions of the Socialist Party. The news was announced by Mr. Ruçi himself, during his speech at SP’s Congress currently being held at “Air Albania Stadium”.

“On September 9, when the new legislature beings, I will not exercise the mandate given to me by the socialists and I will not have the ambition to be in any elected body of my family which has given me some much throughout these 30 years. I thank all my collaborators, whom I had the opportunity to work with and I want to apologize to all those who believe that during these 30 years I have not met the objectives,” Mr. Ruçi said.
