Greece national holiday celebrated in Albania

As part of the celebrations for the 203rd anniversary of the national day of Greece, the Greek embassy in Tirana organized a series of activities in the capital, but also in other areas where members of the Greek ethnic minority live in Albania.

During the reception organized in Tirana, President Begaj and representatives of political parties in the country participated. In her speech, the Greek ambassador to Albania, Konstantina Kamitsi, emphasized the strong bond that exists between the Albanian and Greek peoples, which extends in many dimensions, starting from the economic to the cultural and historical aspect.

“The Greek Ethnic Minority in Albania and the Albanian Community in Greece have been and will continue to be of assistance to the efforts of the two countries to further improve their bilateral relations, which constitute not only a bridge of trust and cooperation between the two countries, but also an essential accelerator of bilateral political and economic relations”, said Kamitsi.

A commemorative activity with the participation of the residents of the Greek minority area, representatives of the local government, the General Consulate of Greece in Gjirokastra was also held in Derviçan of Gjirokastra, where the contribution of the Greek people in the struggle for freedom and national independence of the peoples of the Balkans, was appreciated.
