Starting from April 2 and lasting until April 4, Greece will experience a closure of its borders for 48 hours as a consequence of a strike by Greek customs service workers.

The closure will affect all border points, with the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora advising all citizens intending to visit Greece to be aware of the planned shutdown.

The Greek police have notified the Kapshtica Border Police Station in Albania that all Greek customs points in Kapshtica will be closed during this time.

Additionally, customs crossing points in Tre Urat, Përmet, and Qafë Botë in Sarandë, will also be affected.

Pedestrians without luggage and individuals with serious health issues will be the only ones allowed to cross during this period.

Greece is home to a large community of Albanians who live and work in the Hellenic state, and a frequent destination for travelers from Kosovo, especially after the lifting of visa requirements on January 1, 2024.
