The Albanian citizens who fell prey to an assassination attempt on Sunday afternoon in Athens have been identified.

Citizen Irakli Davella from the Saranda area was killed by the gunshot attack, while citizen Edi Lolo was injured.

The attack happened outside a shop at the intersection of Aristotelous and Komotini streets.

The Greek media Protothema writes that the perpetrators shot in cold blood at the victims and the person who remained dead was shot in the head.

According to the information so far, the victim was a Greek citizen, of Albanian origin, a local owner in Peristeri, who also rented vehicles on the islands during the summer. He seems to have maintained friendly relations with people connected to the Greek mafia, while the injured is an Albanian, who arrived in Greece from Dubai, a few days ago.

The attackers were in a car that had been stolen earlier today, which police believe means they planned the crime and stole the car precisely to get to where they hit their victims. The way they acted shows that the assassination was planned.

The first police investigations are focused on settlement of accounts between criminal groups.
