Haklaj reveals more ‘unknown’ facts about Agron Neza: First Secretary’s son and Berisha’s friend
Former MP of the Democratic Party, Azgan Haklaj, has revealed details from the past of Agim Neza, the Albanian-American who appears as Person A in the case of former FBI official Charles McGonigal.
Invited to Euronews Albania, Haklaj said that Neza comes from a well-known family in the Tropoja district and served as the head of counter-intelligence of the State Security in 1989, 1990 and 1991.
Haklaj also claimed that former Prime Minister Sali Berisha was a close person and friend of Agron Neza’s father, who held the position of First Secretary in Tropoja.
“Sali Berisha stated that he does not know Agron Neza. Agron Neza comes from a prominent Tropoja family, he is the son of the First Secretary of the Tropoja district, who was also the Chairman of the Executive Community, not only in Tropoja but also in Gramsh, a friend of Sali Berisha. He is the step-brother of Ali Iber Neza, the deputy commander of the army of the Albanian League of Prizren, he is the great-grandson of the Mulosman family and he himself was the head of counter-intelligence of the State Security in 1989, 1990, 1991. He is the nephew and uncle of Besnik Mustafaj, he is the brother of journalist Agim Neza, who has been rightfully decorated by President Ilir Meta. This is Person A in MCgonigal’s FBI file”, claimed Haklaj.
