Endrit Thaçi, the son of former President Hashim Thaçi, visited his father in The Hague, where he has been held in pre-trial detention for more than five years.

Following the visit, Endrit reacted on social media, expressing hope and optimism that Hashim Thaçi, together with his former comrades-in-arms, will be released soon.

“Full of hope. Counting the days until my father and his friends leave this place. The sun will rise again,” he wrote, accompanying the message with a thumbs-up emoji — a symbol often used by former President Thaçi as well.
