New details have emerged regarding the discovery of the lifeless body of 30-year-old Miklovan Danaj, originally from Shkodra, who was found dead near the shores of Marbella, Spain.
His body was discovered by authorities on August 24, while the news was made public on Monday, September 1.
Albanian authorities have been officially notified of his identification, while investigations into the cause of death are ongoing.
During the examination of the scene, Spanish police found two identity documents with different details, raising suspicions that the young man may have used them to evade authorities.
Danaj had been out of contact with his family since May. His relatives had reported his disappearance to the police, stating that they had received a message informing them of his death.
“He is dead, don’t look for him,” read the message sent to his family.
The 30-year-old is suspected of having ties to international cocaine trafficking and of collaborating with criminal clans outside Albania. Investigations are being carried out jointly by Spanish and Albanian authorities.
