The General Secretary of the Socialist Party, Damian Gjiknuri, clarified the focus of the conversation he had in the pink headquarters with the American ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim.

Through a Facebook post, Gjiknuri reveals that the May 14 election process was discussed at the meeting. He emphasizes that he assured the ambassador of the determination of the Socialist Party for an election process in accordance with the best international standards. “I had the pleasure of hosting the ambassador of the United States of America in Tirana Mrs. Yuri Kim at the headquarters of the Socialist Party. The upcoming local elections on May 14, the current political situation in the country and the ODIHR’s recommendations after the last electoral process were at the center of the discussion.

I assured the ambassador of the determination of the Socialist Party to actively contribute to an election process in accordance with the best international standards. As always, the United States of America remains by Albania’s side in the effort to guarantee free and fair elections”, Gjiknuri writes on Facebook.
