The State Intelligence Service (SIS) has discovered operations against Albania by Russian and Serbian intelligence.
The information was given to the Assembly of Albania by the head of SIS, Vlora Hyseni, who reported to the Security Commission.
“We have mainly focused on operations related to organized crime, anti-terror, espionage, which includes opposition to the activities of the Russian, Serbian and other intelligence services, with hostile goals in relation to Albania,” she said.
In the short part of the open door reporting, Hyseni said the secret services have helped the police and prosecutors to fight crime.
“We have increased cooperation and informational support for law enforcement agencies referring to their subject competence, such as with SPAK, BKH, the General Directorate of the State Police, the General Prosecutor’s Office and other institutions,” Hyseni concluded.
The meeting of the security committee continued behind closed doors, due to the secrecy that SIS maintains in this annual report.
