The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, today held a meeting with the director of the EMCDDA, Mr. Alexis Goosdeel.

Through a reaction on social networks, Koçiu said that during this meeting there was a discussion regarding the areas of cooperation regarding the steps that Albania should take in relation to the programs of breaking away from the addiction of drug users, the challenges of their treatment and inclusion in drug harm reduction programs.

Likewise, according to Koçiu, during the meeting it was discussed about the commitment of the Ministry of Education and Culture for the acceleration of steps towards the approximation of legislation with EU countries and the establishment of an early warning system, as part of the European network.

It was a pleasure to meet today the director of the EMCDDA, Mr. Alexis Goosdeel, with whom we talked about our areas of cooperation as far as the steps taken by Albania in relation to de-addiction programs of the number of drug users, the challenges of their treatment and involvement in drug harm reduction programs.

During the meeting, I emphasized the commitment of the Ministry of Education and Culture for the acceleration of steps towards the approximation of legislation with EU countries and the establishment of an early warning system, as part of the European network.
