As part of the decentralization process, initiated by the Ministry of State for Local Government, agreements were signed in the fields of health, education and agriculture.

The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Albana Koçiu, signed the agreement for the decentralization of functions in primary health care with the mayor of Berat, Ervin Demo, the mayor of Divjaka, Josif Gorrea, the mayor of Shkodra, Benet Beci and the mayor of Kolonje, Erion Isaj.

“This whole venture and this deal definitely sets a new standard in how services are delivered. Any mechanism added in order to operate the municipalities themselves in the territory will definitely be in the service of improving the quality of life and services for the communities”, said Minister Koçiu.

During this ceremony organized at the Center for Openness and Dialogue in the premises of the Prime Minister’s Office, agreements on the decentralization of functions from the central level to the local level were signed also in the field of education and agriculture by the Minister of Education and Science, Ogerta Manastirliu and the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Anila Denaj.
