Officials of the High State Control (KLSH) have been in the Municipality of Saranda for several days. Sources indicate that a financial and compliance audit has been ordered for the period January 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023. During this period, the Municipality of Saranda was for about 6 months directed by Ardian Gurma and another 6 months by Oltion Çaçi. There are at least 4 auditors who perform the checks together with their leader B. Doracaj.

In fact, just a few months ago, KLSH published the final report for the same audit that it carried out in Saranda Municipality for the period January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022. It is not known for what reason the KLSH decided to come to the Municipality of Saranda to conduct another audit, but in the report for 2022, the KLSH recommended to the Municipality a disciplinary measure of warning up to dismissal for 4 employees as well as an administrative or disciplinary measure for 6 others.

Confidential sources, on the other hand, indicate that for some time Special Prosecutor’s Office has also requested information regarding different files in the Municipality of Saranda, which are mainly related to property documents but also to some construction permits granted.
