The Ambassador of the United States of America in Pristina, Jeff Hovenier, in an interview has repeated the request of the European trio, Scholz, Macron and Meloni regarding the urgent need to move towards the establishment of the Association and the granting of de-facto recognition by Serbia.

He also spoke about the attitude of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, that “without signature there is no implementation”. The American diplomat emphasized the US position that “it can be implemented even without signatures”.

Regarding the security situation and the issue of the deployment of the Serbian army around the border with Kosovo, Hovenier says that the US closely follows every concern.

“I still sleep pretty comfortably at night knowing that NATO is there, knowing that there are American soldiers in NATO, and knowing that they are capable of dealing with whatever security threats may arise,” Hovenier concluded.
