Next year, 70% of the beaches will be occupied by sunbeds and 30% will be public beaches, for 1 km. These are the new rules for accommodation structures. However, these measures require better management, especially in public spaces.
“We have been experimenting with different methods every year for 10 years, they have not been effective. The final instruction should be reconsidered, because the beach stations have been managed by the local government and have failed. If we have public beaches, we need perfect management, which requires toilets, showers, umbrellas”, says Zak Topuzi, head of the Hospitality-Tourism Association.
With the new regulation, priority is also given to hotels that are on the second line, or nearby. Entities must fulfill several conditions, the main one being registered and categorized.
Applications will be made in e-albania and everything will be in cooperation with the local units, which will also have specific maps of available spaces.
Beaches where there are currently no mass accommodation structures, such as Divjaka and Fieri, according to the regulation, will pass with beach stations for bar-restaurants, setting conditions for the latter.
The beaches are divided into 4 categories, A, B, AB and C, based on their typologies.
