During his first official visit to Brussels as Albania’s Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ferit Hoxha met with Marta Kos.

Minister Hoxha stated that Albania has made progress on its path toward the European Union, which, according to him, is reflected “in the pace and quality of our negotiation process, as well as in the deep and comprehensive reforms being undertaken in our institutions and society.”

“Albania remains fully committed to maintaining this momentum and delivering results regarding our shared and ambitious work plans for the accession process, with the same determination that has guided our progress so far. With the Interim Benchmark Assessment Reports for the Fundamentals Cluster (IBARs) currently undergoing verification by Member States, as well as the intensive work continuing for the implementation of the Growth Plan, our agenda remains focused, essential, and future-oriented,” Hoxha added.

During the meeting, Commissioner Kos expressed appreciation for the will and seriousness with which Albania has advanced its commitments within the framework of European integration, at a time when the enlargement process has been and remains a merit-based process built on real results.
