Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha, together with Prime Minister Edi Rama, took part in an open discussion with 150 young activists from Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro at #RinCamp2026.

Albania’s EU accession process and the country’s progress towards membership were among the key topics discussed during the panel organised by the National Youth Agency.

Addressing participants, Hoxha stressed that EU accession requires the active involvement of everyone, especially young people, who will be the direct beneficiaries of the investments and reforms being implemented today.

“This is our national goal, our shared mission and the greatest opportunity for young people. No one is excluded; everyone has a role to play. This generation will be the first to experience Albania as a member state of the European Union. As I have said during my meetings with young people across the country, Europe starts here. Decisions are made in Brussels, but reforms are carried out here. The impact of every decision taken in Brussels is felt in Albania,” Hoxha said.

According to the minister, understanding that EU membership begins at home means that every individual, both personally and collectively, can help bring that future closer.

“While our responsibility is to lead Albania towards EU membership, the responsibility of young people will be to represent and defend Albania’s interests within the European family, while also promoting our shared European interests on the global stage,” Hoxha added.
