“I had no motive to commit murder. I have recently received serious life threats from the victim. Two violent incidents happened to me by the victim and outside the gas station I was attacked again by the victim”.

This is what the 45-year-old Albanian who shot and killed his 50-year-old compatriot told the Greek police at noon on Thursday, outside the gas station in the Analipsi area of Thessaloniki.

The Greek media write that the author, who surrendered today around 16:30, in the presence of his lawyer, Thanasis Alexopoulos, told the police where he left the car he was driving yesterday afternoon and where he left the weapon he used to kill the victim.

In the video, the victim is seen arguing with the driver of a vehicle and then tries to hit him with a chain. He is then shot and falls to the pavement.

According to the information, the accused has a hematoma and bruises on his head from the victim’s attack with hard objects, outside the gas station, and an expert examination has been ordered for this.

“With the warning that what my client tells me emerges from the documents of the case, I declare that I have undertaken his defense”, said the lawyer, stressing that the 45-year-old had no intention of escaping arrest.
