Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has said that the escalation of the situation in north cannot be resolved with pressure and mention of consequences.

He admitted that there are challenges in the discussions with the emissaries Lajçak and Escobar, but he expressed his conviction that they will be able to clarify all the ambiguities, while he added that he has not received any ultimatum from them to resolve the situation in the north.

Kurti, after participating in a judo activity in Mitrovica, told to the media that he offered the EU special representative for dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, and the US emissary for the Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, the sure way to have a stable exit from the crisis in the north of Kosovo.

He said that he is in favor of holding early elections in the north, but on the condition that first is rule of law there and then that the elections are free and democratic. Kurti insisted that the bilateral relations between Kosovo and the European Union and the United States are excellent.
