The President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, has reacted from prison to the opening of Albania’s negotiations with the European Union.

Through a post on the Instagram social network, Meta calls the prime minister’s false exaltation for the closure of the group of chapters, which according to him has blocked the country for more than a decade.

“Prime Minister Rama’s false exaltation of the group of chapters, after he blocked the country’s European integration for a decade, is an indicator of his hypocrisy and irresponsibility and the “Rilindja” gang for this process that should have been concluded a long time ago. Albania signed the Stabilization and Association Agreement in 2006, before Montenegro, Serbia and other countries, which signed it years later. Meanwhile, they opened negotiations in 2012 and 2014 and are at a much more advanced stage, even though they had problems with International Courts and inter-ethnic conflicts”, Meta writes, among other things.
