The Gjirokastra Police, in cooperation with the prosecution, launched an operation this Wednesday to crack down on illegal electricity connections.

Sources indicate that local authorities are executing arrest warrants for 16 employees of the OSHEE (Electricity Distribution Operator) in the Gjirokastra region, who are suspected of abuse of office.

The individuals under investigation are technical sector employees and are accused of facilitating illegal connections to the electricity distribution network in the Gjirokastra region.

The operation is still ongoing, and authorities continue their investigations to fully uncover the case.
