The International Monitoring Operation (IMO) has appealed the decision to confirm in duty Elisabeta Imeraj.
The appeal was filed on Monday as soon as Independent Qualification Commission (KPK) unveiled the entire decision to reinstate Imeraj in office.
According to IMO, Tirana’s Prosecutor General must be dismissed following problems that arose after the verification of the three evaluation pillars.
The Ambassador of the United States to Albania, Yuri Kim, took it on Twitter to endorse the move of the International Monitoring Operation, urging to show courage and integrity for the vetting process in order to “break away from old patterns”.

On April 1, the Independent Qualification Commission confirmed in office Elisabeta Imeraj.
A few days ago, the High Prosecutorial Council appointed Imeraj as the chief of the capital’s prosecution office for a three-year term.
Consequently, Imeraj resigned as a prosecutor from the Special Anti-Corruption Structure in Albania, widely known as SPAK.
