Increase in Foreign Visitors to Albania in February: 30% Growth

Tourism in Albania continues to show strong performance, with February 2025 recording a significant rise in visitor numbers. According to the latest data from INSTAT, the number of visitors—both residents and non-residents—reached 118,487, marking a 29.96% increase compared to the same period last year. Resident visitors grew by 32.2%, while non-resident visitors increased by 26.4%. Overnight stays also saw a notable rise of 34.2%.

Non-coastal areas and hotels located near them were particularly favored by tourists, registering a 29% increase in activity. Statistics show that the central region welcomed the highest number of tourists, with 73,634 visitors in February, followed by the southern region with 23,755, and the northern region with 21,098 visitors.

Italian tourists led the way, accounting for 22% of the total, followed by Kosovo with 16%, Germany with 7%, and France and the United Kingdom contributing 4% and 6%, respectively.

There was also an increase in visitors from European countries, making up 45% of all foreign tourists. INSTAT further reported that hotel room occupancy stood at 16.5%, showing a slight decrease from 16.7% in February 2024.
