The economic situation, immigration, and fertility are some of the factors that influence the decline in birth rates.

“It is important for us as doctors not to have a decrease in the number of births due to a lack of information, to not have a decrease in the number of births due to a lack of access to doctors who help to grow a pregnancy, so that the number of births does not decrease due to the lack of services”, says Otilja Dekovi, gynecologist.

One in 8 couples experience difficulties in achieving pregnancy and according to studies, this figure is increasing.

The government should pay attention to this category through financial support in order to increase the number of births.

“In our country, we have seen an increase in infertility with higher numbers than in other countries, of course this requires real studies due to the male factor. It is very important for the state to intervene to support those people who do not have the financial means to afford expensive procedures such as assisted reproduction methods to help them through certain packages”, explains the doctor.

The birth of children in recent years is coming at an increasingly older age for women. “The trend to seek a pregnancy varies from the age of 30-35, this is the average age, while earlier there were younger ages where they sought a pregnancy”, says Dekovi.
