The resettlement camp in Shëngjin, where according to the Italian authorities the works have been completed, will welcome the first migrants in the coming days, without determining the exact date of their arrival.
Regarding the facilities in the reception center, Euronews Albania journalist Sara Demushi said that it is expected to accommodate about 3 thousand migrants, who will stay in that center for about 48 hours.
After that, these migrants will be moved to Gjadër, where they will continue with full accommodation.
During the 48 hours that these migrants will stay in the Shëngjin camp, they will have the opportunity to perform some visits or health services in advance.
The journalist clarified that a fixed date for their arrival has not yet been set, but the Italian authorities have affirmed off camera that everything in terms of infrastructure is ready.
What has pushed this agreement for finalization is the delay of the deadlines, where it was initially said that the migrants will arrive at the beginning of May, then in August and continued with the beginning of October.
The reason for the postponement of these deadlines is said to have been the delay in the completion of the construction of the buildings in this camp.
