The number of young people graduating from Albanian universities is constantly decreasing.
The latest report of the Institute of Statistics has highlighted that throughout the year 2022 graduates fell by 5.4% compared to 2021.
In the last three years, the number of students receiving a bachelor’s or master’s degree has been decreasing.
Put in numbers, in 2020, 32,889 students graduated, in 2021 this number dropped to 32,690 and in 2022 we have 30,910 graduates, i.e. 1780 students less than in the previous year.
51.8% of young people graduating in 2022 belong to bachelor’s programs and 41.9% to master’s programs.
The experts of the Institute of Statistics have highlighted that 27.2% or more than 1/4 of the young graduates belong to the “Business, administration and law” programs, to be followed by the “Health and well-being” programs.
Boys are more in number when talking about programs related to “Engineering, production and construction”, accounting for 21.3% of graduates, while girls dominate in programs related to “Health and well-being”.
But what is noticed year by year, is the number of graduates in the fields of administration, business, law or social sciences and journalism is decreasing from year to year, while the number of graduates in natural sciences, mathematics, statistics, information technology, communication, engineering, manufacturing and construction.
