About 10,000 people presented themselves during a week to the family doctor or medical emergency as a result of being affected by seasonal viruses and flu.

The monitoring of the Institute of Public Health has proven that for 4 weeks the number of citizens seeking the help of a doctor has decreased, from 12,208 at the beginning of November to 10,440 at the beginning of December.

In the last week, it is reported that 7087 people are affected by upper respiratory infections and 3353 lower respiratory infections.

For experts, this is a low-intensity activity of virus circulation in the population.

Children up to 5 years old are the ones who predominate among the patients who want the doctor’s help.

Cases of upper and lower infections are spread throughout Albania, but Gjirokastra, Durrësi, Fieri and Hasi have high numbers of patients.

Epidemiologists inform us that we currently have several viruses circulating, influenza type A and COVID-19.
