The Ambassador of the European Union in Albania, Silvio Gonzato, said in the meeting with the heads of independent institutions and the Speaker of the Assembly Elisa Spiropali, that in a democratic state it is very important to implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court.

“Decisions of the Constitutional Court must be respected in a democratic state”, he said.

Gonzato also said that successful negotiations require cooperation, so the EU will continue to support Albania on its path to integration.

My last message is that the European Union continues to support Albanian institutions on their way to the EU. Many institutions are here related to the systems. When we come to the parliament, we have a new program dedicated to supporting the parliament in its efforts to increase accountability and transparency, to raise the transparency of European integration and to strengthen the inter-parliamentary dialogue.

Since Albania will take another important step towards EU integration, I want to tell you that all your contributions will be essential to guarantee that Albania will be ready to join the European Union. The Parliament will continue its central role by strengthening the political dialogue and contributing to the strengthening of state institutions”, said Gonzato.
