Interior Minister Taulant Balla today hosted the UK Government’s Special Coordinator for Illegal Migration, General Stuart Skeates.

During the meeting, Balla stated that the results of the Joint Task Force for Migration are quite significant with a 92% decrease in cases of illegal Albanian immigrants compared to last year.

“Results of the Joint Task Force are significant with a decrease of 92% in cases of illegal Albanian immigrants compared to last year. The most recent case of the repatriation of 5 illegal Albanian immigrants within the week who had traveled to Great Britain illegally is a meaningful expression of the cooperation and work of the Albanian law enforcement agencies in the fight against illegal immigration”, he underlined.

Minister stated during the meeting of the Joint Task Force for Migration that the significant results and existing cooperation with British law enforcement agencies in the field of illegal immigration should be deepened in other areas such as the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking.

For his part, General Skeates said that “it is clear that the joint initiative has enabled the significant results of the last months. Thanks to your leadership, the drastic reduction of illegal arrivals of Albanians in Great Britain has been made possible through 92% less rafts”.
