A large-scale anti-drug operation has been concluded by Italian authorities, resulting in the arrest of 30 individuals involved in an international narcotics trafficking network, including 13 Albanian nationals. The criminal group was based in the Salento region and operated across several areas of Italy. Several women were also among those detained.

The suspects face charges of international drug trafficking. During the two-year investigation, authorities seized 2,677 kilograms of narcotic substances, including cocaine, heroin, hashish, and marijuana, as well as 4,975 liters of hashish oil. According to Italian media, the market value of the confiscated drugs is estimated at around 6 million euros.

Among those arrested are:

Xhuljano Ajazaj (28), Julian Beqiraj (45), Alfred Feta (56), Jeta Feta (51), Erion Kaloshi (44), Arjan Komini (44), Lulëzim Kule (49), Eltion Majkaj (37), Lusjan Mbole (30), Xhjusild Osmenaj (34), Nelm Sacaj (28), Shkëlqim Sinani (48), Endri Xhumbaraj (33), Ervis Xhumbaraj (47), and Kujtim Zeqe (53).

According to investigators, Lulëzim Kule, an Albanian national, and Carlo Serio, a Spanish citizen, are believed to be the ringleaders of the network. Kule is considered a key link between Albania and Spain, allegedly providing logistical support for the supply, transport, and storage of narcotics.

Meanwhile, another group of Albanians — Alfred Feta, Arjan Komini, Shkëlqim Sinani, and Kujtim Zeqe — were reportedly specialized in the trafficking of cannabis and marijuana, which were stored in the province of Lecce for distribution across several Italian cities.

The operation is the result of a long and coordinated investigation between Italian authorities and international law enforcement agencies.
