The second edition of the International Folklore Festival has started in Tirana. 6 countries participate in this activity, presenting popular culture.
The main purpose of this event is the interaction with international multicultural folklore in Albania.
“From the constant insistence I have had since I am a professional dancer, I have had a very strong conscience to increase the level of culture and to recognize international cultures in Albania. We are 97 members and this year I expect a surge, since it is the third edition of FIDAF and the expectations are very high, the interest is high. Getting to know international cultures is of special interest,” said organizer Gëzim Alimehmeti.
Participating groups bring from their country different choreographies and costumes for the three nights of the festival.
“This year’s innovations, since I have been a member of this festival for three years, we can say afterparty. It’s an afterparty to connect cultures between countries, as well as to feel closer to each other, and why not, to share their personal experiences with each other,” said coordinator Regisa Dylgjeri.
Participating countries this year are Greece, Moldova, Spain, Mexico, Chile, Hungary. The special feature of this festival is the fact that there are also foreign participants in the jury. They show some of the criteria that a winner must have.
“There are several criteria in the selection, starting with the choreography, the authenticity of the dance, the costumes and other details that make the difference. And in the end, depending on the points we will decide the winner,” said the member of the jury, Catalin-Gabriel Oancea.
The winning state of the first place of this edition will also be the guest of honor next year.
