Doctor Aurora Meta Dollenberg clarified in an interview for Euronews Albania whether the new virus that is circulating is actually a new COVID-19 variant.
“We already have the B variant that now dominates in America and among the European population, so those who get infected with these B subvariants of the coronavirus in Europe go through it like the normal flu and we’ve seen neither cases of death nor complications after infection,” – said Meta Dollenberg.
Meta also added that we can say that so far Europe is in the safe zone, despite the fact that infectivity is very high.
“So far, they do get transmitted quickly, but they are not life-threatening,” – emphasized Meta Dollenberg.
