Doctor Arban Domi stated that isolation and the use of masks due to COVID weakened people’s immune systems.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Domi considered the presence of seasonal flu or the RSV virus to be normal, as it is the period when viruses affect the population.

“It is normal, it is the period when all these viruses affect the population. In Albania, there is a particularly high increase in infections in children, which could be flu cases, but perhaps a very high number could also be RSV, which is normal for the current conditions.

The issue is that we have an overlap for a period of 1 or 2 weeks, above the normal numbers associated with the long period of COVID. Not with the presence of the virus itself, but with the measures that were taken. Because of the isolation, the use of masks has weakened our immune systems,” he said.
