The United States Embassy in Albania has issued a major global alert for all American citizens in response to the escalating tensions in the Middle East.
According to the announcement, the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran has led to travel disruptions and intermittent airspace closures in the region. Additionally, there is a risk of protests targeting U.S. citizens and interests in various parts of the world.
“Global Warning: The conflict between Israel and Iran has caused travel disruptions and periodic airspace closures across the Middle East. There is potential for protests against U.S. citizens and interests abroad,” the U.S. Embassy in Tirana stated.
The U.S. Department of State is urging all American citizens to exercise increased caution during international travel and to stay informed before making any travel plans.
“Please carefully review the Travel Advisory, country-specific information, and any recent security alerts before planning a trip at: travel.state.gov/destination,” the official notice concluded.
