Prime Minister Edi Rama spoke for the first time about the idea of creating a Bektashi state within Tirana.
In a meeting with the Albanian diaspora in New York, Rama said that just as other religious communities in the world have their representations, so the Bektashi community will have to have its own representation.
Rama emphasized that the creation of a Bektashi state means granting the status enjoyed by diplomatic headquarters for the space where the headquarters of the religious community will be.
“It is in our national interest to preserve this wealth or will we leave it to fate. Others educate imams and priests in all countries of the world. They go to school and come back.
Above all, what does it mean to create a sovereign entity? It means that their status is raised to a maximum level and has a radiation beyond that circumference itself. It is their property, communism took their property, as it took everyone else’s, and they will have it again. This is a status like a diplomatic representation.
Of course, it is normal to have concerns, but what is laughable and crying at the same time is that what is not fanaticized like it is Serbia’s plan. While religious communities have their own global system, this is not like we have a few people and we are making a state. That’s how I say it.
But in order to understand the conversation well, I would suggest to anyone who is interested to open the books of the Bektashis, I do not believe that he was an agent of Soros,” said Prime Minister Rama.
The Prime Minister emphasized the fact that the Bektashi community, as one of the 4 religious communities in Albania, does not have support or other world centers like other communities, so it is up to Albania to provide this support so as not to leave them as orphans.
“Everyone has their centers, some have one, some have several, the Orthodox have their centers, they are divided according to their areas. Fan Noli created the Autocephalous Church, but did not say “Let’s make it a separate state” precisely because the Albanian Autocephalous Church was part of the entire network.
The part of the Muslim community has all those references and therefore has all the support it receives, while these are like orphans and are the orphans of Albania, they are neither of one country nor of another.
Now in Albania, we must leave these orphans, in the sense that they have nothing to do with other powers. Their temple, in order to build their temple, I have asked the government to provide funding.
