He is better known as a singer, but in his past, he has also been a military officer who fought in Kosovo in the late ‘90s.
English artist James Blunt has shared a video on Instagram, informing fans who may not be aware of his involvement in the Kosovo war.
“Did I ever tell you that before I was a pop star, I was in the army?” writes Blunt in the video’s caption.
In June 1999, Blunt, then a captain in the British army, was the first officer to enter Pristina leading a reconnaissance unit, tasked with preparing the entry of the NATO contingent.
As he has mentioned several times, on that occasion, Blunt refused an order from General Wesley Clark to eliminate a contingent of 200 Russian soldiers blocking a runway.
The famous singer seems to have become nostalgic, bringing attention once again to his video from the Kosovo war and NATO’s involvement in saving the civilian population.
